What is TEDx?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxPU, where x=Independently organized TED event. At our TEDxPU event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

TEDxPU aims at bringing forth the most basic form of effective communication. It often takes an idea lot of time to seep into our mind. The more it is related to the day to day life of a person, the easier it is for the latter to grasp the essence of the idea. Core to our goal is a belief that there is no greater force for changing the world than a powerful idea.

TEDxPU's passion and mission is to reach out to people to learn, share and discuss ideas that have the power and potential to Make A Difference in our lives and in our world.

TED is a global non-profit organisation focussing on Ideas Worth Spreading. TED was started in 1984 as a Small conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, and Design, to talk about how their ideas were converging. Since then, TED's scope has become broader, encompassing today the whole spectrum of human ingenuity, creativity, and society.
